Alia Pugh, Ph.D.
Owner of Right Hand Academic
I have been researching, writing, and editing since 2010, focusing primarily on literacy education and linguistics. I work with academics in the social sciences and humanities but am open to other fields.
I have co-authored academic papers published in Reading Research Quarterly and Education Sciences and have made behind-the-scenes contributions to numerous other published works.
Drawing from my research background and my experience teaching English as a Foreign Language, I have supported academic researchers at every level of a project, from conception to publishing. Additionally, I have written lay-friendly research summaries for blogs, developed a research-based dynamic framework for a reading-tracking app, and helped graduate students organize and edit their papers and dissertations, among other accomplishments.
I received my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, specializing in Special Education Literacy Supports, from the University of Connecticut. I earned a Master of Arts in Linguistics, graduating with Distinction, from the University of Brighton, UK.
